REI has a company-wide policy of closing all retail stores on both Thanksgiving and Black Friday to allow their employees the opportunity to get outside and enjoy themselves over the holiday. Rest assured, you can still make purchases through REI.com on those days, should you so choose, but in following with their belief that you should get outside over that weekend, the company annually chooses to run their holiday sale before Thanksgiving actually rolls around.

This year, it goes live on November 14th and runs through Monday, November 24th, and it’s packed full of great deals on camping and hiking equipment, warm clothing for the upcoming snow and ski seasons, footwear, car racks, you name it. Some REI Co-op brand gear is marked down as much as 40%, while select gear from the likes of Fjallraven, the North Face, and Patagonia is up to 30% off.
